my grandmother used to get so mad at me when i would draw in the middle of a piece of paper then crumple it up when i didn't like it. "your wasting it!" she would say. i was and continue to be poor at material conservation.

new moons

the thing is that these aren't new moons in the moon phase sense because a new moon is no moon in the sky, but then again the moon is still there, it doesn't just disappear, so maybe it's just looking at the thing from the other side. no but what we need is new phases in our lives in general. for instance i personally am going through a waking up early phase, a grateful dead phase, a dog phase, a nonfiction phase, a tired phase, and a making things phase among others all at the same time. i would like to hope that when i am an old man, if i get to be an old man, that i will be having a new phase and trying to explore dead ends and getting better or worse, depending.

next month there will be an exhibition of drawings and prints of mine about space, the sun, the moon, animals, plants, and people. it is in new york city and there will be more information forthcoming. thank you always for looking at this stuff.
