morning jammers for jamming to

watching this video makes me want to build a time machine and go back to new york in the early 80s, wear a beret and join every band in the lower east side and get mugged. everyone who is in a band today is a wuss compared to these dudes.

this feels perfect. my friend lisa played this record for me in athens, ohio in 1999 and i've been looking for it ever since. i don't think i will ever find it. i used to hate saxophone in rock songs but now i don't know what  i was thinking because this is pure true love.
both of these are also the aural equivalent of what i like about art and books. i need humanity, man, in all it's goofiness and sloppiness and happiness and magicalness. i am officially stoked for the day. let us rip!

Joe Jackson's singing face is a Nat Russell drawing.

long time fan of yrs in NYC. your art is rad.

Joe Jackson "Night & Day" was the first record I ever bought back when I was 6 or 7.

Apropos of not a goddamn thing, you might like this random LES saxophone jam:

and another random one from the era (produced by John Cale no less) but no saxophone:

Keep being awesome and making art every day.
